Markie
I’m going to talk about my miniature schnauzer Markie. My heart is sad. I had to have her put down this week. She was 16 years old. I can remember the day I brought her home when she was 6 months. She was the best friend and companion I could ever ask for.
I loved how feisty she was. When I would roughhouse with her, she would show her teeth and growl. She would grab at my hand, but never bite. I can see her with another dog I had named Moon. When I would let them out in the morning, they would take off running the fence line looking for a rabbit.
The thing I will miss most about her is how she would root at her blanket. She would paw and paw at it until it was just right for her to snuggle in. Sometimes it would take a couple of minutes. I was so blessed to have her as long as I did. I will miss her a lot. I’ve already looked over at her pillow a couple of times and she wasn’t there.
Besides Jesus, she was the best friend I ever have had. She was always there for me and her love was unconditional. This one is going to linger for a while especially since it was just her and me for the past 1 ½ years. I can say that my sweety girl is not suffering any more. She was a blessing from God.
