Love One Another

The following scripture came to me Tuesday morning as I was drinking my coffee.

1 John 3:10-11 reads-

“10. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest.  Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11. For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”

Another verse that came to mind is James 4:17. It reads-

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

If we have the means to help someone, this verse instructs us to do so. I have had opportunities to help others in the past but failed to do so.  My excuse was I didn’t have enough time, it would inconvenience me, or I wasn’t capable. What would have happened if these were Jesus’s excuses for not dying on the cross.

Philippians 4:13 reads-

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

There are many ways we can help people.  I think you know what they are. If God puts it on our heart to help someone, we should listen.  We may be the lifeline that person needs. You never know, God may even give you a big blessing for doing so. May God richly bless you.
