God’s Combination
I have a locker at the part time job I currently have. I was given a lock with a 3 number combination. It reminds me of the same type of lock that I have used throughout my life. I’m sure you have used one at some time. It keeps our items locked up. We then use the combination to unlock them.
We all have situations (mountains) in our life that seem too big for us. It could be an unsaved loved one, a sickness, a relationship or something we are waiting for God to show us what to do. We tend to keep these situations locked up when we don’t have to. There is a combination of 3 things God has provided for us to unlock these situations.
Read the bible. We will find scripture that leads to the next two which are prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:20-21 says, “If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Also see Psalm 35:13, Ezra 8:21, Matthew 6:16-18 and James 5:16.
Prayer. We need to have an intimate prayer life with God. But when the mountains stated above come our way, it’s definitely the time to pray. 1 John 5: 14-15 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of Him.” Also see Mark 11:24 and 1 Peter 3:12.
Fasting. Jesus starts Matthew 6:16 with “When you fast.” He doesn’t say if you fast. It is a requirement from Him if we expect our mountains to be removed. Ezra 8:23 says, “So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayers.” Read the bible and pray to God and he will reveal to you how to fast.
Reading the bible, praying and fasting are the combination that God has given us to unlock His power. It will strengthen our intimacy with Him. You all continue to be in our prayers.
