Wait

I recently read that the average person spends 2 to 3 years of their life waiting.  That comes out to be 1 hour per day.  Waiting is a part of life.  Why do you think it’s called the waiting room when you go to the Doctor’s office?  Waiting can be a good thing.   The problem occurs when we become impatient.

Let me give a couple of examples of what I’m talking about.  We’re setting in traffic and our lane isn’t moving.  We become impatient and get in the other lane.  What, the lane we were originally in starts moving.  We then get back in the original lane.  You see the picture.  Back and forth, back and forth.   We’re at the grocery store.  The check-out lane isn’t moving.  We get out of the check-out lane and move to another.  We then look over and that lane just moved.

What am I trying to say?  We pray for God to move in our situation.  He does, but we’re not there to see it.  We’ve quit waiting and moved to the other lane.  Isaiah 40:31 reads, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”  If we’re not waiting, how can this happen?  We need to stand still so we can hear God’s voice. Psalm 46:10 reads, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations.  I will be exalted in the earth.”

I know it’s hard to wait.  I mentioned in a previous blog that taking my hands off of God’s steering wheel was one of the hardest things for me to do.  Waiting is another.  I’m currently in a holding pattern with my life. My plane is circling the airport, but I have to wait.  I’m not going to change the coordinates.  The time is close and I don’t want to miss hearing God’s voice telling me where and when to land.”  I want to do all I can for God because time is short.  The harvest is great and the laborers are few.  We continue to pray that God will bless each of you. Please continue to pray for us as we continue with our ministry.
